Ascend by Next-Level Tableau
Turn your Tableau expertise into better opportunities, stronger credibility, and greater independence.
Ascend is a 90-day mentoring and implementation program for technically capable Tableau professionals who want to create better freelance, consulting, contracting, training, or side-business opportunities from the skills they already have.
Applications close October 22, 2026.
The next problem
Technical capability is necessary. It is not sufficient.
You may already know how to solve complex Tableau problems. But technical skill alone does not automatically create better clients, stronger positioning, higher rates, or a reliable pipeline of opportunities.
Common situations among technically capable Tableau professionals
- “I know I can do the work, but I struggle to explain why someone should hire me.”
- “I have experience, but not enough compelling proof.”
- “I want independent work, but I do not know where to find it.”
- “I offer too many things and cannot describe my value clearly.”
- “I want to sell directly instead of relying on recruiters or third parties.”
- “I want collaborators I can trust when projects become larger.”
- “I am employed, but I want to build a credible side business.”
The shift
From technical capability to independent opportunity
You already know how to do the work. Ascend helps you turn that capability into better opportunities, stronger credibility, and greater independence.

The program
What you will build during the 90 days
Get positioned, build proof, and create better opportunities for independent work.
Clear positioning
Define who you help, what problem you solve, and why your experience matters.
Stronger proof
Create or improve case studies, portfolio assets, and credibility materials.
A clear offer
Turn broad technical capability into a focused service or professional offer.
An opportunity pipeline
Develop practical approaches for referrals, partnerships, outreach, content, or direct opportunities.
Commercial confidence
Practice explaining value, discussing price, handling objections, and asking for the next step.
Trusted collaboration
Connect with selected practitioners who may become project partners, referral partners, or collaborators.
Accountability
Make progress between sessions instead of collecting more information and delaying action.
The sessions
Seven sessions. Seven business-building outcomes.
The sessions are the vehicle. The outcome is a professional offer you can describe, prove, and sell.
Ascend is implementation-focused. You leave each session with work to complete, and participants are expected to complete work between sessions.
Session 1: Define the target
Choose one measurable 90-day outcome and identify the main constraint.
Session 2: Clarify your positioning
Define your audience, problem, value, and differentiation.
Session 3: Build your proof
Create a case study, portfolio asset, or credibility piece that makes your expertise easier to trust.
Session 4: Package your expertise
Define one clear service or offer with a specific outcome, scope, timeline, and starting price.
Session 5: Create opportunity
Choose a primary opportunity channel and build a practical 30-day pipeline plan.
Session 6: Sell with confidence
Practice discovery, value communication, pricing, objections, and closing.
Session 7: Collaborate and compound
Create collaboration rules, referral processes, quality standards, and a next-90-day plan.
